“When
another person makes you suffer, it is because he suffers deeply within
himself, and his suffering is spilling over.
He does not need punishment; he needs help.” ~ Thich Naht Hanh
“Healing
may not be so much about getting better, as about letting go of everything that
isn’t you – all of the expectations, all of the beliefs – and becoming who you
are.” ~ Rachel Naomi Remen, MD
“I
have come to drag you out of yourself and take you in my heart. I have come to bring out the beauty in you,
and lift you like a prayer to the sky.” ~ Rumi
These three quotes appeared to me today in
quick succession. They directly relate
to things I’ve been contemplating and reinforce the positive perspective. I have learned to recognize when Spirit is
sending me messages and answers to questions I have. If something is repeatedly appearing in my
experience, I take note. This I share to
remind you to take note of the answers Spirit is sending you.
There are many things you can take from
these beautiful quotes. The thread I am
looking at today is self-love. I believe
that the love you have for yourself (not the narcissistic kind) plays a primary
role in your life experience. The less
you love yourself, the greater your suffering will be; the more negative
manifestations you’ll have. This can
become quite a negative feedback loop and spiral downward.
I think, when pointed out, most of us can
recognize that we have some degree of this negatively affecting our lives. Conversely, we also have the benefits of
loving ourselves showing up too. It’s
all part of the human experience, so don’t be too hard on yourselves. It all provides for stimulating lives.
What’s good about recognizing this is it
gives you a greater sense of understanding what underlies many of your
experiences. This understanding grants
you the ability to do something about it.
To take charge and address that part of you which is suffering from a
lack of your own love.
For me, part of this message reinforced
what I know in my heart; that I am here to facilitate people reconnecting with
their true selves – that great love inside them. Your true self is a magnificent being full of
love, especially for yourself. Just as
the suffering person’s suffering can spill out and negatively impact others, a
person who truly loves themselves cannot help but have their love flow over and
positively affect others.
Letting go is not always easy to do on your
own. I feel blessed that as a healer I
can “take you in my heart”, seeing the true you, help you see that too and “let
go of that which isn’t you”. I am
honoured to bring out the beauty in you and help your love light to shine.
Try looking at things today as they relate
to self-love. You may find it a very
interesting experience.
